Participation Council (MR)

Decisions are constantly being made at school. Decisions relating to the education provided or decisions relating to the school itself. In the Participation Council (MR), parents and staff members participate in discussions and decision-making regarding important matters affecting the school. In this way, they can exert influence on the school's policy.

Decisions that the management intends to take are submitted to the Participation Council. The MR provides solicited and unsolicited advice to the management.

Who are in the MR?
  • Ilse Ebben
  • Jeanine van Antwerpen
  • Zohra Bellahssen
  • Josje van Delft
  • Tessa van der Heijden
  • Ilona de Kok
Powers of the MR

The MR has two types of authority: advisory authority and consent authority. The Participation in Schools Act (Wms) stipulates the subjects for which the MR has the power to advise or consent.

Topics that are discussed include:

  • Improvements in education;
  • The spending of money and buildings;
  • Adoption or modification of the school guide and school plan;
  • Cooperation with daycare organizations;
  • Determining vacations and days off;
  • Staffing ( vacancies, internships, teacher training and group formation);
  • School policy;
  • Safety (in and around the school).
Annual report MR

The annual report summarizes the topics covered during the past school year.

The annual reports are also shared with parents on the class board and can be requested from the MR.

Student council

The student council of De Heydonck consists of enthusiastic students from group 5, 6, 7, and 8. They represent all students at our school and actively contribute their thoughts on issues relevant to the school. In this way, they learn to participate in discussions about school matters that concern them in an engaged and responsible manner. The student council is supervised by Ms. Melanie, who supports them in preparing and conducting meetings and developing ideas.

Parents' council

The Parents' Council (OR) of De Heydonck consists of a group of committed parents dedicated to organizing and supporting various school activities, such as celebrations, excursions, and theme weeks. Together with the school team, they ensure an enjoyable and well-organized school experience for all students.

Becoming a member of the Parents' Council

For most parents, the sense of involvement with their child(ren)'s school is an important reason to join the Parents' Council. And it is a pleasant way to lend the team a hand with the organization and to see with your own eyes how the students enjoy all the fun activities organized during and outside of lessons. Would you like to become a member?
