Information about De Heydonck

De Heydonck, where education and childcare are provided for children aged 0 to 13. We operate on a continuous schedule; all children attend school five days a week from 8:30 AM to 2:15 PM. Our child center is located at Max de Bossustraat 8. We collaborate with Partou here. You can come to us for education, day care, toddler programs, and out-of-school care.

Every Friday preceding a holiday, the children are dismissed at 12:00.

On study days, the team attends training or works on the development of education. The children have the day off on these days.

Participation Council (MR)

Decisions are constantly being made at school. Decisions relating to the education provided or decisions relating to the school itself. In the Participation Council (MR), parents and staff members participate in discussions and decision-making regarding important matters affecting the school. In this way, they can exert influence on the school's policy.

Decisions that the management intends to take are submitted to the Participation Council. The MR provides solicited and unsolicited advice to the management.

Powers of the MR

The MR has two types of authority: advisory authority and consent authority. The Participation in Schools Act (Wms) stipulates the subjects for which the MR has the power to advise or consent.

Topics that are discussed include:

  • Improvements in education;
  • The spending of money and buildings;
  • Adoption or modification of the school guide and school plan;
  • Cooperation with daycare organizations;
  • Determining vacations and days off;
  • Staffing ( vacancies, internships, teacher training and group formation);
  • School policy;
  • Safety (in and around the school).
Annual report MR

The annual report summarizes the topics covered during the past school year.

The annual reports are also shared with parents on the class board and can be requested from the MR.

Student council

The student council of De Heydonck consists of enthusiastic students from group 5, 6, 7, and 8. They represent all students at our school and actively contribute their thoughts on issues relevant to the school. In this way, they learn to participate in discussions about school matters that concern them in an engaged and responsible manner. The student council is supervised by Ms. Melanie, who supports them in preparing and conducting meetings and developing ideas.

Parents' council

The Parents' Council (OR) of De Heydonck consists of a group of committed parents dedicated to organizing and supporting various school activities, such as celebrations, excursions, and theme weeks. Together with the school team, they ensure an enjoyable and well-organized school experience for all students.

Becoming a member of the Parents' Council

For most parents, the sense of involvement with their child(ren)'s school is an important reason to join the Parents' Council.
